Android Wear becomes Wear OS. Here’s what is new!

Android Wear becomes Wear OS

Google Inc rebranded its Android Wear operating system for smartwatches into Wear OS ahead of BaselWorld, the annual expo which is taking place in Switzerland (22 – 27 March 2018), an event where the world’s most important watch and jewellery brands come together to showcase their latest innovations, both mechanical and electronics devices.

Along with the rebranding of the OS, Google also introduced a few new things within the app itself: an improved glanceability (darker background within the OS menus), improved Google Play Music app for Wear OS, added in-store payment notifications via Google Play and the ability for one to pin Google Keep notes right from his/her wrist.

If you already have the Android Wear app installed on your smartphone, then you should be able to see an Update notification to Wear OS via Google Play store.
