Google Play Indie Games Contest announced for February 2017

Google Inc is looking for way to help indie developers to get their games better promoted within the mobile gaming industry, and more importantly, by the gamers world-wide.

On that note, the search giant is announcing the Google Play Indie Games Contest, which intends to reward the best indie talents from several European countries with prizes that will help them to promote their games. The big prize is an open showcase at the Saatchi Gallery in London, there are also YouTube influencer campaigns worth up to 100,000 EUR, Premium placements in Google Play Store, tickets to the annual Google I/O 2017 and other prizes, too.

The contest is open to indie game developers based in Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France (coming soon), Germany, Iceland, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Poland (coming soon), Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and UK (excl. Northern Ireland). You need to have 15 or less full time employees, and have published a new game on Google Play after 1 January 2016. If you’re planning on publishing a new game soon, you can also enter by submitting a private beta. Make sure you check out all the requirements in the legal terms and conditions.

Google Play Indie Games Contest will take place in London between February 16-17 2017. If you are not interested in participating in the contest, but still want to attend the showcase event or the indie games developer workshop the next day, you can sign up here. Both will be happening in London, United Kingdom. Please note that you can only subscribe your game until December 31st 2016.
