Mate 9 Lite goes official in total silence as 5.5″ Android-powered phablet.
Recently, Huawei launched an entire new series of phablets under the Mate 9 marketing name, including a limited edition Mate 9 Porsche Design and a Mate 9 Pro version that focuses on hardware performance.
Aside from these three models that Huawei already publicly revealed, the Chinese OEM also listed the Mate 9 Lite recently on its website as a 5.5-inch smartphone equipped with a 1080p screen covered in 2.5D slightly curved glass on both edges.
Huawei Mate 9 Lite comes with an octa-core processor developed by Huawei itself, Kirin 655. At the back there is a dual camera, but with downsized camera sensors. The setup has 2 and 12MP sensors and there is no Leica technology here apparently, while at the front there is an 8MP selfie taking camera. The phone runs Marshmallow with Emotion UI 4.1, it comes with a 3,340 mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor like all the rest of the Mate 9 series phablets.
The Mate 9 Lite weighs in at 162 grams and measures 8.2mm in thickness, it will be available in Grey, Gold and Silver colours in 3 GB of RAM + 32 GB of ROM or 4 GB of RAM + 64 GB of ROM (internal storage). However, pricing details or date of release remains unknown for now.
