Might be the best time to release a new phablet now that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 (the fastest and most performant device) is out of the way due to a manufacturing errors that led to many Note7’s bursting up in flames. To seize the moment, Huawei has just released a teaser for their upcoming phablet series handheld dubbed Mate 9, a device schedule to see the light of day early next month at a press event where other technologies will be revealed (hint: smart car).
Huawei Mate 9 is expected to launch in two variants; one with a curved Quad HD display (2K screen resolution), the other with a flat Full HD display. Both Mate 9 handsets might sport an in-house made chipset, namely Kirin 960, 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 / 128 / 256 GB of internal storage.
In addition, the same rumours hint at a dual-camera setup at the back powered by Leica technology, camera which is said to feature 4x optical zoom.
Huawei’s press event will be taking place on November 3rd, 2016.
