Today, September 30, Samsung Electronics in partnership with SK Telecom announced in South Korea the launch of Galaxy A8 2016 model, which comes in a very large full metal design body (156.6 x 76.8 x 7.2mm; weighs 182g) and with a 5.7-inch AMOLED display.
Packing a 3,000 mAh battery and Samsung’s own Exynos chipset with an octa-core 2.1GHz processor, the Galaxy A8 2016 comes with Full HD screen resolution, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage (microSD card slot included for up to extra 256GB), it is equipped with an 8MP camera sensor at the front and a 16MP sensor at the back (both with f/1.9 aperture) and there is also a fingerprint sensor.
The phone itself runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it features Samsung Pay and the Always On display.
Price-wise, Samsung is selling the Galaxy A8 2016 for 649,000 WON (about £455) as of October 5th. We dont know if this is exclusive to SK Telecom or if it will be available to all local carriers. The A8 2016 model will also be available on other global markets, however, at this time there isnt any information regarding price or market availability outside Korea.
