Earlier this year, Alcatel released the IDOL 4 smartphone series, both VR ready and with a handful of other interesting features, like the dual stereo speakers and its elegant design. Unfortunately non of the two: Idol 4 or Idol 4S come equipped with the latest Qualcomm chipset (Snapdragon 820), like most of the flagship smartphone of 2016. However, this might change soon, as Alcatel is allegedly preparing an Idol 4 Pro powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8976 (octa-core CPU + the Adreno 530 GPU).
In a listing spotted recently on GFX Bench, an unknown Alcatel device might hint at what the Idol 4 Pro features will be. According to the listing, the handset runs Android 7.0 Nougat, features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, comes equipped with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, although it only shows 3.5GB, 10GB internal memory.
In addition, the top-tier unknown Alcatel device also comes with a 20MP camera sensor at the back capable of shooting 4K videos and an 8MP sensor at the front.
Alcatel might reveal the Idol 4 Pro as early as next month, after Google press event schedule for October 4th. Other mobile makers are also expected to out Nougat-running smartphone next month.
