According to Red Dot Design Award’s website, the ZenFone 3 smartphone will take advantage of the all new 2.5D curved glass design combined with a slightly curved metal frame, while the ZenFone 3 Deluxe “no longer needs to compromise and presents the first full metallic smart phone in the world.”
The ZenFone 3 series will retain the abstract texture we’ve seen on previous ZenFone models, that “thin layer of decoration film with metallic spin texture, portraying the ASUS identity in a new form.” ZenFone 3 will also sport a fingerprint sensor on the back, right under the main camera, which comes with LASER autofocus. The front-facing camera (selfie shooter) comes with an LED Flash for better selfies in low light conditions.
Red Dot 21 also reveals details about Asus’ Smart Flip Cover accessory, which has “advanced fluorescent material leveraging the brightness of the screen, the edge of the cover illuminates corresponding to UI settings.”
Asus is expected to announce the ZenFone 3 series of smartphone in time for Computex 2016, which takes place each year in Taipei.
