This week at Mobile World Congress 2016, in Barcelona, Acer introduced its latest Android-powered Liquid smartphones: the Liquid Jade 2, Liquid Zest and Liquid Zest 4G, but their not the talk of the town as they are not true flagship phones at core, but rather affordable devices for emerging markets.
Acer’s Liquid Jade 2 is the most powerful of the three rocking Qualcomm’s hexa-core Snapdragon 808 CPU, it has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, it features a 5.5″ AMOLED ergonomic 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass screen which supports 100% NTSC color gamut, Digital True Surround Sound technology and there is also an 8MP camera at the front, 21MP main camera at the back with snappy autofocus and 4K video recording at 30@fps. No word on its pricing and availability yet.
The remaining two smartphones – the Liquid Zest and Zest 4G – come equipped with MediaTek’s MT6580 chipset with a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU, MT6735 chip on the 4G variant with the same number of cores and clocked frequency. Both devices sport a 5″ IPS display with a 1.280 x 720 pixels screen resolution.
Liquid Zest and Zest 4G also come with Digital True Surround Sound and DTS Play-Fi technology (audio streaming service for Play-Fi enabled speakers).
These two have a price tag set. Acer sells the Liquid Zest for 110 Euros, 150 for the 4G LTE enabled model.
