It’s the first day of CES, so there’s lots of news still coming from Las Vegas, including some that was announced overnight. One such news came from China manufacturer Huawei. They will release their mid-range, mid-priced Huawei GX8 in the first quarter of 2016.
Huawei GX8 coming Q1 2016:
The Huawei GX8 is aimed to be a mid-range phone with an appropriate price tag. It’ll sport a 5.5″ HD 1080P display, running a Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with an SD card slot for more. The cameras will be both 13MP and 5MP back and front respectively and come with a 3000mAh battery.
The Huawei GX8 is said to come with the very good Huawei fingerprint scanner, but the device will only ship with Android Lollipop 5.1, meaning it won’t be able to make full use of Marshmallow’s built in compatibility for fingerprint sensors.
The Huawei GX8 is due to be released at some point in Q1 of 2016 and will be available from Amazon, Huawei and Best Buy in America. Currently, the only pricing we have is $349 (£238/€324).
