Zenfone receives Android 6.0 upgrade, says Asus, but when and if other devices will make it on this list, is unclear at this point.
In a forum post published a couple of days ago, Asus confirmed that it is planning to upgrade some of its ZenFone series devices as well as the PadFone S. In fact, the company named which devices will be making the jump to Android 6.0 Marshmallow according to their model number.
According to ZenTalk user administrator of Asus’ official forum, the ZenFone 2 (model ZE550ML and ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Deluxe / Special Edition (model number ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Laser (model number ZE500KG / ZE500KL / ZE550KL / ZE600KL / ZE601KL), ZenFone Selfie (model number ZD551KL) and the PadFone S (PF500KL) are so far the only devices due to receive an upgrade to Android 6.0, however, the company failed to mention a timeframe or a date, when the roll out starts.
The post is so vague that instead of shedding light on the topic, it raised even more questions like: Will other Asus devices make the jump to Marshmallow too? Is this the definitive list, or should the users expect other devices to join the list in the near future? Which of above confirmed devices will be the first to receive Android 6.0 and when the users should expect it to roll?
