iNew U5 4G, a sub £70 Lollipop smartphone

iNew U5

Well known for producing cheap Android smartphones lesser known brands like iNew offer quite good alternatives to top-tier devices such as the Galaxy S6, the iPhone 6S, LG G4, Xperia Z5, HTC One M9 and so on, and more importantly, at a price affordable to the majority of the people. Sure, the materials used may not be premium quality, but still, devices like the iNew U5 in this case here, are not far from what an iPhone 5c or a plasticky Samsung Galaxy offers in terms of design and user experience, and you’re not breaking your piggy bank either.

The iNew U5 is a 4G dual SIM smartphone that feature a 5-inch display with 1,280 x 720 pixels screen resolution. The iNew U5 is powered by a 1GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 processor with Mali-T720 GPU, 1GB of RAM and it has 16GB of built-in storage, memory which you can expand through a microSD card slot, if extra storage space is required.

In addition, the iNew U5 comes equipped with a 8MP main camera on the back with LED Flash and 2MP front-facing camera. The capacity of the battery that juices up the phone is 2,300 mAh, which may not be the ideal capacity, giving that this is a dual SIM 4G smartphone, hence a power drainer. Still, you can’t expect more from an under £70 smartphone.

All in all, iNew U5 is offers quad-core performance, 4G connectivity and Android 5.1 software experience for less than £100 (shipping taxes from China included). You can order an iNew U5 through online Asian retailer Gearbest.
