HTC has apparently begin the upgrading process to Android 5.0 of the mid-range Desire 820 smartphone in some countries. Users from Taiwan and India have reportedly started receiving software updates via OTA, which upgrades the device from Kitkat to Lollipop.
For example, in Taiwan users receive Lollipop firmware build number 2.10.709.2, file that is 1.18GB in size. Meanwhile, people in India report that the firmware is only 982MB in size, probably less bloatware on it.
HTC should expand its roll out to other continents as well, in the coming weeks, that if the software update doesnt pose any problems to HTC Desire 820 owners from Asia.
