Google Nexus 5X goes official! No surprises here, the rumours were true.
In an event live streamed via YouTube, Google announced today in San Francisco the two new Nexus smartphones, updated Chromecast streaming device, the Pixel C 2-in-1 hybrid and other interesting software related news.
First on the list was the Google Nexus 5X built by the same manufacturer that built the Nexus 5 two years ago, LG Electronics. The Nexus 5X feature a 5.2″ Full HD display with 423 ppi, that is powered by Qualcomms Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and Google latest Android operating system – Marshmallow.
Google Nexus 5X measures 7.9mm in thickness, weighs in at 136 grams and it will be available in Quartz White, Carbon Black, Ice Blue and Gold colors (as an exclusive for the Japanese market) as the rumour mill previously indicated.
In addition, Google Nexus 5X packs a 2,700 mAh battery, NFC, 4G LTE Cat 6, Bluetooth 4.2, nano SIM slot, 12.3MP main camera and a USB Type-C connector for fast charging.
The Google Nexus 5X is available now via Google Play store for $379 (16GB model), $429 (32GB variant) in the UK, US, Ireland and Japan, but it will be available at European major retailers and some telecom network operators too.
