We’ve been familiar with Android M build since May, back at Google I/O 15, when the company announced the preview build for developers and revealed its key features. However, until today, we’ve been kept in the dark about the meaning of the letter M. We’ve been asking ourselves the same question obsessively the last few months and there it is folks. Google has finally decided to come clean. So, the next desert behind Android M build is Marshmallow and its version 6.0, not 5.2 as some of us thought it will be.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow:
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the eleventh letter from the alphabet picked by Google, because A and B letters were never used, Google started this desert treat with the letter C = Cupcake. After Lollipop last year, this year it is Marshmallow treat by Google.
And like all previous years, the official announcement starts with the unveiling of a new statue/mascot, that’s being carefully placed on the lawn of Building 44, in Mountain View, California.
If you want to learn more about Android 6.0 Marshmallow and how the statue was built, take a look at the footage below from Nat and Lo.
