OnePlus 2 announced

OnePlus 2 announced! The first smartphone to get unveiled online with the help of Virtual Reality technology.

At a very inconvenient hour for us Europeans (3AM GMT), OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 2, or the 2016 flagship killer as the small Chinese mobile maker likes to call it.

OnePlus 2 comes with dual SIM nano slots wearing metal armour (aluminium and magnesium alloy frame bind together with stainless steel accents). With a 5.5″ LCD-in cell panel that feature Full HD screen resolution (no, no 2K screen res), the OnePlus 2 sports as expected a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and helped to get through in games by an Adreno 430 GPU.

The OnePlus 2 comes in two variants: one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, the other one comes bearing only 3GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, both weighing in at 175 grams, measure 9.8mm in thickness and are available in Sandstone Black, but there are optional back covers (texture) to choose from.

OnePlus 2 also feature 5 and 13MP cameras, the main one has 6 lenses to avoid distortion and bad color reproduction. It comes with a 3,300 mAh Li-Polymer battery and it is rechargeable via a USB Type-C port. The phone runs Oxygen OS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and it is equipped with a fingerprint sensor.

As for the price, the OnePlus 2 is available via invitation from $329, $399 the 64GB model.
