Sony Xperia Z5 allegedly caught in a photo, and we have some rumoured key specs and a date of release, too.
Sony’s mobile division pretty much let us all down this year. Firstly, because we were all expecting the Japanese OEM to introduce a flagship smartphone in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2015 (probably the most important in the mobile industry stage of them all), instead Sony decided not to spend too much money on such a glamorous event, and thus announced the Xperia Z4 quietly months later in its home country.
Secondly, Sony not only that it launched the Z4 in such an unusual manner, but also released the flagship device in other regions under a different name – Xperia Z3+ (Plus). Some say that it was a pretty bad marketing move for Sony Mobile.
Well, time has passed and Sony is working on a new flagship smartphone dubbed the Xperia Z5 (obviously), handset expected to be shown off this fall at IFA 2015, in Berlin.
Until September (when IFA opens its doors) we get to take a peek at an alleged Xperia Z5, or so the Japanese publication Naver claim that it is.
Along with this purported photo of the Z5 we have some key specs to throw in the mix. The Xperia Z5 is said to feature a 2K (2560 x 1440 px) display, it will be equipped with Qualcomm’s next-gen SoC, the Snapdragon 820 backed-up by 4GB of RAM, fingerprint technology is finally making its way to the Xperia series with the launch of the Z5, a 4,050 mAh battery and there are also rumours of a 20.7 or 27MP IMX230 camera capable of 4K shooting videos.
Sounds good? Are looking to buy a future Xperia Z series phone?
