Several Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge owners took it to XDA Developers forums to complain about out of nowhere home button and screen scratches. It appears that the cause of these problems is the official Samsung Clear View protective case accessory. Somehow the case can’t keep the specks of dust out and with a little help from the friction created in one’s pocket it results what you see in these images uploaded by XDA users, owners of Galaxy S6/S6 Edge handsets. This is a smartphone owner’s nightmare!
The irony in this case is that the Samsung Clear View protective case as expensive as it is, it’s supposed to protect, not damage the device. As tough as Corning claim Gorilla Glass 4 is, we are talking glass after all, don’t we?
People are now debating whether to ask for new phones or just screen replacements, plus refund of the entire sum spent for the Clear View case. You can follow more on Twitter, if you’re using the hash tag #s6scratchgate.
XDA forum member testimonial:
I have just been on the phone with Samsung for half an hour and they agree there is an issue and are aware of other cases so I guess the more people say something there may be chance we can have a reasonable outcome. I’ve been asked to send photographs and receipts so that’s a start. Good luck.
Are you in a similar situation, please leave a comment down below, if not, but plan on buying the official Samsung Clear View case, don’t! Wait at least until Samsung issues an official statement on the matter.
