Samsung’s 2015 flagship smartphones – Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge are out and on sale for a while now, but we are yet to see the mini variant of these two bad boys, as well as a ruggedized model, which usually comes out as a Galaxy Active device.
On this note, folk at GSMArena received an anonymous tip in the form of a couple of images allegedly portraying the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, or should we say, the shock, water and dust proof version of the best smartphone Samsung has ever released.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will be marketed as model SM-G890A (it is the AT&T version), and it will sport an enforced housing (likely not glass) as the Black model is pictured in these images. The ruggedized version of the S6 allegedly feature a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, 16MP rear-camera, 5MP front-facing camera, a 3,500 mAh battery, Exynos 7420 processor (still no Qualcomm chipset). Apparently it will not inherit the fingerprint scanning technology (Galaxy S5 Active didn’t had that either last year) and the speaker has moved on the back of the phone.
No word on when it will be available on the US market, nor if it will be available in other regions such as European continent, but we will get back on this topic as soon as we find out more.
