Samsung Electronics is reportedly working on a couple of new Galaxy Tab S series tablets to replace the Tab S 8.4 and Tab S 10.5 from last year. The rumour has it, that these new Galaxy Tab S2 devices will launch next month (June) to create competition to the iPad Air 2, sporting a metal frame (design apparently based on the classic Galaxy S6).
Somewhat trusted OnLeaks Twitter account, has allegedly leaked the first press render of what could be the final design of the 9.7″ Galaxy Tab S2 (model number SM-T815) variant (render above).
Both Galaxy Tab S2’s could feature 2,048 x 1,536 pixels screen resolution with 4:3 aspect ratio like the iPads, with Exynos 5 Octa (octa-core) 1.9GHz ARM big.LITTLE CPU’s, hexa-core Mali-T760 MP6 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, 8MP and 2MP cameras. Both tablets will run Android 5.0.2 Lollipop (unless Samsung decides to install Android 5.1 until launch).
The Galaxy Tab S2 tablets could also feature a slim (under 6mm thickness) and sleek design, weighting a little over 400 grams, but still lighter and slimmer than the current iPads.
