LG Electronics looking to sell at least 12 million LG G4 smarphones



Yesterday, LG Electronics announced its greatest smartphone yet, the LG G4, which goes on sale today in key markets, including the US, starting at $770.

The LG G4 feature a 5.5-inch 2K display (Quantum HD technology), it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM (internal storage), 16MP main camera, Lollipop OS and ceramic/plastic, leather housing.

LG expects to ship 12 million G4 smartphones globally, figure which translates inĀ 20% more units than LG G3 last year.

According to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, smartphone vendors shipped a total of 375.2 million units during the fourth quarter of 2014 (4Q14), resulting in 28.2% growth when compared to the 292.7 million units shipped in 4Q13 and 11.9% sequential growth above the 335.3 million units shipped in 3Q14. For the full year, the worldwide smartphone market saw a total of 1,301.1 million units shipped, up 27.6% from the 1,019.4 million units shipped in 2013.
