In a very unusual manner Sony Mobile has announced earlier this morning in Japan, their flagship smartphone for 2015 – Sony Xperia Z4.
Sony apparently decided that it is not worth wasting money on announcing probably its most important smartphone of this year, unless the company has another ace up its sleeve that we do not know about. Maybe Xperia Z5?
Anyways, Sony Xperia Z4 went official in Japan and it is extremely thin – 6.9mm, lightweight – 144g, and it is jam-packed with hardware features. The display is a 5.2-inch Triluminos based, with Full HD screen resolution, it comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset, which sports an octa-core 64-bit processor clocked at 2GHz, there’s 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage with microSD card slot included for up to 128GB.
Additionally, the Sony Xperia Z4 feature a 20.7MP main camera (G Lens) and a 5.1MP front-facing camera for selfie lovers, both with Exmor RS sensor. The battery inside has 2,940 mAh capacity, which offers up to 17 hours of talk time in 3G networks.
Sony Mobile Z4 is dust and waterproof, and will be available as of April 22 in Japan in Black, White, Copper and Aqua Green. No word on its pricing or availability outside Japan.
Sony Mobile also introduced a couple of accessories for the Xperia Z4: a window view cover Sony SCR30 that costs 7000 JPY, about 55 Euros / 40 GBP, and a desk USB cradle, which will be available only later in the summer.
