In a press event which took place in London earlier today Huawei introduced its two top-tier 2015 devices, the Huawei P8 and P8 Max. The phablet is rather a surprise, but why not, Samsung and Apple announced a pair of flagship phones as well.
Huawei P8 is a 5.2-inch smartphone with a LCD IPS-Neo 1080p display, that measures 6.4mm in thickness, weighs only 144 grams and it takes advantage of its all-metal unibody design. The P8 Max on the other hand feature a 6.8-inch display (same panel and screen resolution).
Both, Huawei P8 and P8 Max houses an Huawei-made Kirin 935 octa-core processor, with 3GB of RAM, 16 or 64GB internal storage, Mali-T628MP4 GPU, 13MP rear-camera with OIS and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with Emotion UI on top.
The differences between the two are in the battery area, where the P8 packs a 2,640 mAh battery, the P8 Max packs an almost double the capacity – 4,360 mAh. The front facing camera on the P8 is an 8MP shooter, while the P8 Max is equipped with an 5MP camera sensor, and this is pretty much where the differences end.
Both handsets feature dual nano SIM slots and 4G LTE Category 4 technology.
The Huawei P8 price tag starts at 500 Euros (16GB model), 600 for the 64GB model. P8 Max costs 550 Euros (16GB variant), 650 Euros the 64GB model. Both devices will be available in four colours: Titanium Grey, Mystic Black Champagne (the 16GB models), Prestige Gold and Carbon Black (the premium 64GB models).
