More Sony Xperia phones receive Android 5.0 software update

Sony Xperia phones receive Android 5.0

Late last year, Sony was announcing that the entire Sony Xperia smartphone series will be eligible for a software upgrade to Android 5.0, and the Japanese is holding its end of the promise, first by starting delivering the software to Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact smartphone owners, back in mid-March.

Sony Mobile continues the upgrade roll out to Lollipop adding several more Xperia smartphones: the Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z Ultra.

As of next week, owners of the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 (including both dual SIM variants) will also receive this firmware update, and after that it is the original Xperia Z series (Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and the Xperia Tablet Z), but for these devices the software is due in a few weeks time.
