Archos announces new Platinum, Xenon and Oxygen smartphones at MWC2015


Platinum, Xenon and Oxygen smartphones

The French mobile maker Archos announces new Platinum, Xenon and Oxygen smartphones in anticipation of Mobile World Congress 2015. The entire series focuses on multimedia experience.

Archos 50 Oxygen Plus is the better equipped of all, it comes with an 5.0 IPS 720p display, 1.4GHz octa-core processor with 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear-camera, dual SIM slots, 3G and Kitkat. An LTE variant will be released later in the year (June) with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Xenon series: Archos 59 Xenon and Archos 62 Xenon, both come with 720p display, a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage. Both phones feature dual SIM slots and microSD, the differences are in the screen size, cameras and battery: the 5.9″ device comes with 5MP main camera, 2MP front-facing camera, while the 6.27″ feature a 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera. The battery on the larger one has 2,300 mAh capacity, the smaller one is yet to be announced.

Going to the Platinum series, there is the Archos 52 Platinum with a 720p HD screen, 1.3GHz quad-core MT6582 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 2 and 8MP cameras, 1,750 mAh battery and Android 4.4 Kitkat.

The entire line-up will be shown off during MWC next week in Hall 1, Stand G29.
