Google is going to launch a special Youtube Kids Android application on Monday, February 23rd, that will deliver specific content for children.
Through YouTube Kids app features, the parents will have more control over what their kids are watching online, and for how long, thus limiting the time their kids spend in front of the screen. YouTube Kids app will offer hours of videos with Thomas the Tank Engine, Sesame Street, Talking Tom or Yo Gabba Gabba.
According to USA Today, who already got their hands-on a beta version, the YouTube Kids app has a really simple interface (see press image above): the main area has 6 large tiles (video preview) above which hover five smaller icons, all of which are easily accessible via a simple tap. The app UI give fast access to TV shows, popular songs, educational videos for preschoolers and top videos (sorted by the number of views).
YouTube Kids app is available as of next week on most Android devices, while Apple product users will have to wait until Google develops a variant compatible with iOS.
