First generation Moto X Android 5.0 delayed, needs more time to optimize the software for the unsual X8 CPU to run smooth.
By now you are probably wondering and maybe freaking ou a little to why the first generation Moto X hasnt received an upgrade to Android 5.0 yet, while the more affordable siblings, Moto G for one, is already running Lollipop in some parts of the world.
Well, it seems that Motorola developers are having hard times optimizing Android 5.0 on the Moto X,because of its special X8 Mobile Computing System processor (4 graphics cpu cores + 2 app cpu cores + 2 low-power cores). Eventually Motorola will start a roll out to Moto X 2013 owners, but not until it will “deliver satisfactory experience, performance,” the company said earlier this week in a reply to a customer on Twitter.
@ac2k9 Moto X (1st Gen) will get L, but chipset requires more effort. We’re working to deliver satisfactory experience, performance.
