Late last year (2014) Motorola Germany offered RAZR HD users an upgrade to Android 4.4 Kitkat and along with it a promise to RAZR i owners that they will be next in line to receive the same treat. Today, we bring you news about that promise.
Motorola has started a software roll out at the end of this week in Germany, which brings firmware build 990.43.74 to RAZR i smartphones, and with it the very long-awaited Android 4.4.2 upgrade. The update file is available OTA (over the air) and it is 425MB in size.
Motorola RAZR i updated to Android 4.4.2 (Change log):
- Android 4.4.2 version
- Several improvements including a redesigned status and navigation bar
- New full screen mode
- Energy consumption optimization (longer lasting battery)
- Support for printing of documents and images with Google Docs, Gmail via WiFi, Bluetooth, as well as through hosted services such as Google Cloud Print or HP ePrint.
- Security patches, including an update for OpenSSL vulnerability
