Gmail 5.0 gets the Lollipop look / Exchange support

gmail 5.0

We’ve seen news of a revamped Gmail application for a while now, Google even launched its currently invite only service “Inbox” with a major image and function overhaul, which led some to question where that left Google’s Gmail app.

Gmail 5.0 show an overhauled design, with some pretty obvious design cues taken from Inbox (Android 5.0 Lollipop and its Material Design). It’s not just in the looks department that Gmail has had an overhaul, it has also had some changes under the hood to performance and functionality.

Gmail 5.0 now also supports non-gmail accounts, such as yahoo, outlook etc. There’s also auto-updating for threads, which give emails a bit of an instant messenger feel if you’re having a conversation.

If you’re running Ice cream sandwich or later, you can download theĀ APK or you cam just wait for the official roll out.
