HTC One (M7) now getting Android 4.4.3 in Europe

The first iteration of the HTC One is being updated to Android 4.4.3 KitKat, follwing its younger siblinglast month. The update is currently seeding to the now one year-old HTC One (M7) in parts of Europe and brings numerous improvements to the ageing handset.

The new firmware dubbed 6.09.401.5 weighs in at 550 MB and contains all the bug fixes and feature improvements of Android 4.4.4, the new bits also allows the HTC One M7 to achieve most of the desired feature parity of current HTC devices by incorporating numerous reworked HTC apps such as the Camera, Settings, Gallery and HTC Sync manager.

The new firmware is available via OTA in Slovakia and Romania, but more countries should follow soon. This update should be the last major release built on-top of the Android 4.4 codebase for current HTC One devices until the next Android version codenamed “L” comes around.
