Nexus 6 codename Shamu by Motorola, said to feature 2K display, Snapdragon 805 CPU and Android L build.
Though the rumours in the last couple of months were pointing out towards Google looking to drop the Nexus series in favour of a new project called Android Silver, “the Nexus line is here to stay,” said Dave Burke, Head of Android Engineering.
Today, new bits of information come from Antutu and GFX Bench, two well-known websites for their benchmark-based applications. The details leaked hint at a Motorola Shamu / Nexus 6 phone, which will allegedly feature a 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display, Snapdragon 805 CPU, 3GB of RAM, Adreno 420 GPU, 13MP rear-camera and Android L build.
The Nexus 6 could land in the following three months (September – November timeframe), as this is the time of the year Google is accustomed to introduce a new version of Android alongside new Nexus phone.
Meanwhile, Google is also rumoured to set up an online Moto Maker-like portal codename “Workshop,” where customers will be able to customize their Nexus phones look as they please.
