We’ve heard endless rumours about a more high-profile Galaxy S5 being released, sporting a higher resolution screen and the endless rumour of higher quality building materials, to break the mould of Samsung’s increasingly boring poly-carbonate casing.
New images have just leaked out from Vietnamese tech blog “Tinhte” showing what appears to be a Samsung Galaxy S5 but with a metal case and a texture on the back more akin to the Galaxy Tab S. There’s also the letters LTE A emblazoned on the back, which is the ultra-fast 4G network currently only available in Samsung’s home country of South Korea, meaning this could be a South Korean exclusive at least for now.
On the screen are the words Samsung Galaxy Alpha, but no mention of S5 anywhere so this could be a separate line all together or the alpha version of the S5. The other image shows the exposed back of the device with the same removable battery we’ve come to be accustomed with over the years from Samsung.
Samsung Electronics could unveil the Galaxy Alpha alongside Galaxy Note 4 at the end of August, during IFA 2014 in Berlin.
Is this the real deal? is this the fabled Galaxy F / Galaxy S5 Prime we’ve heard so much about recently? Let us know your thoughts in the comments and on Twitter.
