Sources in Korea have stated that Samsung will launch an all new device in August called the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, an all metal phone in an effort to boost sales and compete with the iPhone 6, due to launch in September.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha:
In a break from tradition for Samsung, who usually launch a flagship phone in the first half of the year, and a Note series phone in the second half of the year, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is set to be launched ahead of the approaching Apple flagship phone in September. This is also to help bolster disappointing sales after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5 earlier this year.
Very little is actually known about the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, such as specs and what markets the device will be launched in. All the source said from Samsung was that it would have “better performance” than the Samsung Galaxy S5 and will launch in “select markets”. What those markets will be remains to be seen, but with reports saying it will launch next month, we won’t have to wait long to hear from Samsung about their new device.
