Samsung looking to include a retina scanner on the Galaxy Note 4?

Retina scanner coming later this fall as a feature on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4?

It may sound like something fresh off a page from nineteen eighty four, but it’s actually an interpretation of a tweet sent from Samsung’s official Exynos account, which shows a large looking smartphone with a large eye right in the middle of the screen, which looks even more orwellian. The tweet features the cryptic message; , “Security can be improved using features unique to us. That’s what we envision. What would you use?”

The image showing an eye on a large phone has made many speculate that this is the iris scanner Samsung spoke about earlier on in the year and the large looking device is the soon to be announced Samsung Galaxy Note 4. An iris scanner is seen as a lot more secure than a fingerprint scanner which is found on Apple’s iphone 5S and Samsung’s Galaxy S5 which was released earlier on in Spring of this year.

A retina scanner could be a deal breaker for the Note 4 and would make unlocking your phone, online banking and other sensitive activities a lot more secure and could revolutionize the way you use your smartphone. There were various rumours before the Galaxy S5 was released that it could feature an iris scanner, but now it seems more likely the security feature will arrive on the next installment of the popular phablet series.

IFA 2014 in Berlin is just a few months away in September where Samsung are expected to announce the New Galaxy Note 4 among other things, so until now we’ll just have to surmise.
