Samsung launched today the mini variant to the popular Galaxy S5 smartphone. The Galaxy S5 mini is the third installment of Galaxy mini devices, which prove very popular with users who aren’t as concerned with high-end specs or think a 5 inch plus phone is a little too large.
The compact Galaxy S5 mini was announced today in Samsung’s home country of South Korea. Samsung claim that the S5 mini will be packing the same high performance and cutting edge fitness tools of its bigger brother.
JK Shin, CEO and head IT and Mobile and Communications at Samsung Electronics had this to say on the matter;
“We always strive to develop devices that appeal to a range of consumer tastes and styles.” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication at Samsung Electronics. “The Galaxy S5 mini allows consumers to enjoy the iconic design and essential and useful features of the Galaxy S5 through a maximized minimalism approach.”
The Samsung SM-G800H aka Galaxy S5 Mini comes packing a 4.5 inch HD super AMOLED display which boasts wide viewing angles and a more comfortable fit for using one handed. Under the hood there’s a powerful quad-core 1.4 GHz processor backed up by a healthy 1.5GB of RAM.Round the back there’s also an 8 megapixel camera.
The Galaxy S5 will initially be launched in Russia with plans for it to be launched globally in the months to follow.
