ASUS Padfone 2 receives Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade

Padfone 2 receives Android 4.4

Padfone 2 receives Android 4.4 software update.

Users of the Asus Padfone 2 might have been feeling a little bit isolated as the last time they got their device bumped up to the latest and greatest version of Android was way back when in December of last year where it received an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

But, Android 4.1 Jelly bean was old even back in December, so it’s fair to say users of the device who are more concerned with having the latest version of the Google OS were feeling a little neglected, but not to worry, the PadFone has been upgraded all the way to 4.4 KitKat, bringing it on level with a whole host of flagship devices.

Before you rush to settings to hit that sweet software update option, make sure you hook up your Asus PadFone to your computer and back up all your data as the update takes the device back to factory settings and isn’t available OTA due to its large size.

If you’re feeling a bit worried about the process Asus have compiled a guide to help you through the ordeal, although it is a little complicated, the guide can be found here.
