Samsung Gear Live launched today, runs Android Wear

Shown off by Google yesterday at Google I/O 2014, the Gear Live smartwatch powered by Android Wear has been officially announced today by Samsung Electronics.

Unlike other bunch of wearable devices that Samsung has launched this year running Tizen, the Samsung Gear Live will run Android Wear platform instead. It is  available for order on the Google Play store alongside the LG G watch.The Samsung Gear Live looks a lot like the Gear 2, only difference is of course, it is running a different operating system.

Specifications wise,it features a 1.63-inch AMOLED display at 320 x 320 resolution,512MB of RAM,Bluetooth 4.0 LE,1.2GHz processor,4GB of storage and a 300 mAh battery,which Samsung says it should last a whole day.Like the other wearable gadgets in the Gear line,it will have a, a heart rate monitor,interchangeable straps (in black and red) and is IP 67 water and dust-resistant.A host of other Google services are available too,such as Google Now,Google Voice,Google Maps,Gmail and Hangouts.
