There’s been rumours flying around for a couple of weeks now pointing towards Huawei launching a new flagship smartphone designed to take on the likes of Samsung, HTC and Apple, to make them more of a dominant and recognizable brand.
Huawei set the 24th of June as the official date of the unveiling but some leaked images have shown up to spoil the surprise. The leaked images show a slender, white device with capacitive buttons underneath a 5 inch full HD display.
There’s also some pretty impressive specs crammed in, like a 13 megapixel shooter round the back and an M8 matching 5 megapixel front facing camera. Under the hood is an octa-core Kirin 920 processor helped along by a healthy 3GB of RAM. Some are speculating that the back of the device houses a fingerprint scanner for security.
The Mulan is a codename for the device with many speculating it’ll be named the “Honor 6” which is the name that features on the invite the company has rolled out to press for the event in two days time. There’s no official info yet on where and when the Mulan will be available or on how much it’ll cost, but all of this and more will be answered on Tuesday.
Just recently Huawei introduced its affordable 6.1-inch phablet – Ascend Mate 2 LTE on the North American market.
