Samsung are set to announce new additions to their tablet lineup later today, but that hasn’t stopped the leakers from publishing new images of the actual tablet and some of its accessories. The images show the purported device in new flip covers, the flip covers work by using the proprietary connectors which are inside the back panels of the Tab S.
The Galaxy Tab S comes with a few world firsts, not only is it Samsung’s first ever tablet to feature fingerprint scanner technology it’s also the first device on the market to feature a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600. Under the hood the Tab S will be rocking a Octa-core Exynos 5 processor which uses ARM’s big.LITTLE technology which gives you four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.9GHz and four Cortex-A7 clocked at 1.3 GHz. That’s not all, there’s also a 6-core Mali-T628 GPU and all backed up by a healthy 3GB of DDR3 RAM.
Round back you’ll find an 8 megapixel camera capable of shooting video in full HD 1080p, round the front is a 2.1 megapixel shooter as well, for all your selfie needs. Out the Box the Tab S will be running Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung’s new Magazine UX user interface running over the top.
We’ll be able to find out more about the new tablets in this series later today at Samsung Galaxy Premiere 2014 event in Madison Square Garden, New York City and see how much of the information in these leaks is legit.
