Romanian mobile maker Allview has just announced the worlds thinnest Android smartphone today, the X2 Soul, measuring only 5.5 mm in thinnes. Well, its more a rebranding of a Gionee Elife S5.5, but still it is considered the slimmest in its class.
Its a tough world out there with powerful competition from top manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, LG, Nokia or Apple, but from time to time lesser known OEM’s like Allview today (which by the way had a booth at Mobile World Congress 2014), peek out from time to time to break some smartphone records.
As thin as X2 Soul is, it sure packs some interesting hardware underneath. We are talking about a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display with a pixel density of 441 ppi, an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage a 13MP main camera with Sony’s IMX135 sensor and a 2,300 mAh battery.
X2 Soul is available on pre-order on Allview’s website for about $450, with shipping starting May 30th.
