Nexus 6 and Nexus 8 names confirmed by Google Chromium project website.
It looks like this year Google is going to step up quite a bit from its usual tablet lineup choosing a new manufacturer to produce the Nexus 8 tablet or so the rumour has it, and we’re probably not going to see a 7-inch tab in 2014. However a smartphone is coming and as we all expect, it will launch as Nexus 6.
This information comes from a recent Chromium code review, which suggests two new devices, the Nexus 6 and Nexus 8. They are expected to be released later this year. Judging by their names, the Nexus 8 will be an 8 to 8.9-inch tablet, while the Nexus 6 is naturally going to be the successor of the Nexus 5, not necessarily a 6-inch device. The manufacturers of these devices are still not known, but LG is most likely to manufacture the Nexus 6 based on the G3, and HTC just might come into play for the Nexus 8, marking their return onto the tablet segment.
Again, these are just speculations, but are small revelations to the bigger picture.
