Motorola shipped 6.5 million devices globally this year so far.

Newly appointed head of Motorola Mobility division until Lenovo finalizes the $3 billion acquisition from Google In.c, Rick Osterloh announced in a tweet posted yesterday on Motorola’s official Twitter account that the US manufacturer has shipped over 6.5 billion devices globally, only in the first quarter of 2014.

Kept in high regards world-wide by the consumers and tech specialists alike, both Moto X (flagship) and Moto G (affordable) contributed in full to the 6.5 million income.

The company is not stopping here either. Just the other day we’ve heard rumours about an even cheaper variant of Moto G dubbed Moto E for the emerging markets, and thats not all, a Moto G 4G, Moto G Ferrari Edition and Moto X sequel are also expected to debut in the coming months.

Other rumours suggest that the first Motorola-Lenovo made phone will go on sale by this year’s Christmas holidays.
