ZTE Star 1 announced in China as a budget ultra-thin smartphone

ZTE Corp is set to conquer the Top 3 smartphone OEM positions this year, and it might just do that with its latest devices.

Recently, the company introduced ZTE Nubia X6, a 6.4-inch in diagonal Godzilla of a phone not just literally but also hardware wise, which is powered by Google’s Android 4.3 Jellybean operating system.

On top of that, ZTE has just announced another Android smartphone called ZTE Star 1, a device that we’ve seen leak earlier last week.

ZTE Star 1 is the first Android 4.4-running smartphone produced by the Chinese manufacturer and it packs a 5-inch Full HD screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) clocked at 1.6GHz, it has an Adreno 305 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage.

Other specs include a 2300 mAh battery, 8MP front-facing camera, 5MP front-facing cam, it weighs only 130 grams at its 6.58 mm thickness. Yep, it is that slim.

The ZTE Star 1 is now available in China through JD retail store in 3 different colours: Black, White and Pink for as low as 1399 CNY, about 134 GBP or 225 USD.
