Last year right after Google introduced the latest version of the most utilized mobile operating system in the world, Android 4.4 KitKat, HTC issued a statement in which Taiwanese mobile maker promised its HTC One family customers that a software update will be available within the next 90 days, and as promised, the company delivered, HTC One 2013 owners are already enjoying Android 4.4.2 version with HTC Sense 5.5 UI, while HTC One Max are reportedly receiving an upgrade as of this week in Europe and in the United States.
Europeans with an unlocked HTC One Max are reportedly receiving a firmware update, build 2.61.401.3 over the air, which brings KitKat to the handset. The upgrade is also available in the United States on Verizon Wireless through the same OTA process. The build number however, is 2.16.605.2, but it still delivers KitKat to the HTC One Max. Sprint customers are a couple of weeks ahead, they already have been upgraded to the latest version (late March).
