Cover has been linked to success right from the start. The Android app hit Google Play store in December last year as a lock screen replacement and it has been a hit amongst Android users ever since.
An announcement posted today on Cover’s official blog states that the project has been bought by Twitter. Although the app is still in its beta stages it appears that Cover convinced Twitter founders to invest in it.
Twitter, like Cover, believes in the incredible potential of Android. They share our vision that smartphones can be a lot smarter — more useful and more contextual — and together we’re going to make that happen. We’ll be building upon a lot of what makes Cover great, and we’re thrilled to create something even better at Twitter.
Looks like Facebook Home will have a serious contender from now on.
