Galaxy S5 water resistance tested

With only a few days before carriers and retail shops will start accepting pre-orders (March 27 – 28) for the Samsung Galaxy S5 (shipping set for April 11th – Samsung’s orders), folks at Mobile Review in Russia got their hands-on a test unit which they put it through a water resistance (IP67 – Ingress protection) test and it is shown in a video that you can watch below.

As you can notice, the phone is fully functional although it is sank at 1 meter under water, and even after it is being retrieved and dried out, minutes later.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was announced late last month in Barcelona, during Mobile World Congress and it comes with a 5.1″ Super AMOLED 1080p screen, a quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 16MP ISOCELL camera, 2,800 mAh battery, fingerprint scanning technology and Android 4.4 Kitkat.

The Galaxy S5 will be available globally from April 11th through all Samsung Electronics official retail partners and through most carriers for a full retail price of 700 Euros / 575 GBP.
