Boeing, the big aircraft manufacturer, announced a new phone, the Boeing Black. It’s a security-enhanced smartphone that has a modular design, allowing you to insert different kind of modules to increase the smartphone’s productivity.
Boeing equipped the Black with some unique security features, like disk encryption, hardware crypto engine, hardware root of trust, trusted modules etc. The smartphone is not intended to be opened or serviced, and if anyone tries to break up the casing, the data of the smartphone, along with its operating system, will be wiped.
The Boeing Black can be enhanced with various kind of modules, like solar panels, satellite receivers, biometric sensors, even an extended battery kit can be attached to it. That makes this smartphone one-of-a-kind.
Spec-wise, the Boeing Black has nothing to boast about. It features a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, microSD card slot, 1590mAh battery and dual-SIM support. It runs on an unspecified version of Android that’s most likely to be a Jellybean build.
