Global KitKat update list confirmed by Samsung Poland

Yesterday, Samsung USA announced the official list of devices eligible for the upcoming Android 4.4 rollout with 14 devices making it into the list.

The current list is virtually similar to that posted yesterday except for few notable exceptions, one of which is the 20 month old Galaxy SIII. – The former flagship handset won’t apparently be given the KitKat treatment given its relatively old age and it is currently unknown if Samsung plans to reverse this decision. Some models below will be switching to Android 4.3 before being given their final KitKat builds.

  • Galaxy Note 3
  • Galaxy Note 2
  • Galaxy S4
  • Galaxy S4 Active
  • Galaxy S4 Zoom
  • Galaxy Mega 6.3
  • Galaxy Mega 5.8
  • Galaxy Grand
  • Galaxy Express
  • Galaxy Note 8.0
  • Galaxy Note 10.1
  • Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition
  • Galaxy Tab 3 7.0
  • Galaxy Tab 3 8.0
  • Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

The Galaxy S3 & S4 Mini won’t also be making the switch. This is rather disappointing considering that those are rather recent devices. As always, Samsung could revise their list and add more devices but the company has yet to officially comment on the matter.

No specific dates were disclosed but we’re probably looking at an April-March firmware update rollout.
