Samsung USA announces Android 4.4 upgrade for several devices

Variants of popular Galaxy devices in the U.S are known to receive late updates compared to their international counterparts. Thanks to the closer collaboration of Samsung and U.S carriers that time gap has been narrowed, Samsung USA has officially unveiled the complete list of handsets planned to get the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade.

The list even includes low end devices such as the Galaxy SIII Mini and Galaxy Tab 3 but it is currently unknown if other devices (Ace 2 & 3) might make it into the list. Those are the devices that are eligible:

  • Galaxy Note 3
  • Galaxy Note II
  • Galaxy S4
  • Galaxy S4 mini
  • Galaxy S4 Active
  • Galaxy S4 zoom
  • Galaxy S III
  • Galaxy S III mini
  • Galaxy Mega
  • Galaxy Light
  • Galaxy Note 8.0
  • Galaxy Tab 3
  • Galaxy Note 10.1
  • Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition

Keep in mind that those update plans are U.S-specific and may therefore not represent the global schedule.

Samsung didn’t explicitly reveal which devices aforementioned would be first in line to receive the update but U.S readers should expect the bits to hit their devices later today.
