Alleged Galaxy S5 render could reveal final design of Samsung’s 2014 flagship smartphone.
As Samsung’s announcement at Mobile World Congress nears the rumour begins to heat up much faster, here we have two pieces of information giving us insight in perhaps how the Galaxy S5 will look like and perhaps what its standout features might be.
First up is a purported leaked image showing what the S5 may look like, obviously keep in mind this is just a rumour, so take it with a pinch of salt. If this image is what the final version will look like, then it is the biggest design change since the S2, as Samsung have stuck with a relatively similar shape to most of their smartphones since the Galaxy S3 came out, there has been various sources suggesting Samsung are going to change the look and feel of the S5 from previous generations with things like a metal chassis and faux leather back.
With those things in mind, it’s quite likely this image shows what the device will look like or isn’t far off in the mark.
Second piece of information we’ve seen this past week is from O2 Germany who launched a page, which shows the faint outline of a phone submerged in water under the headline “Anticipation high 5, great news about Samsung that can do more” there’s no direct mention of the Galaxy S5, but the use of the 5 in various parts and also the ability for customers to sign up for more news, which is something carriers do when the launch of a new device is imminent certainly points to it being the S5.
The end of the month is quickly approaching and we’ll know soon enough which elements of the rumour mill got it right and which were just pure speculation.
