Recently, Huawei introduced a slightly bumped variant of Huawei Ascend P6 (its 2013 flaghship smartphone), which packs a 1.6GHz processor instead of a 1.5GHz. Marketed as Huawei Ascend P6S, the phone is 0.3mm thicker than the “worlds slimmest Android smartphone at the time of launch – June, 2013,” however it looks like this is not the sequel that we’ve all heard of late last year, a new and unannounced smartphone codenamed Sophia, is in the works and it could arrive as early as the end of this month at Mobile World Congress 2014, in Barcelona, Spain.
A screenshot taken from an alleged Ascend P7, reveals Sophia codename, as well as Android 4.4.2 and Huawei Emotion 2.3 UI. This would be Huawei’s first device running KitKat operating system version.
Huawei Ascend P7 might feature a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen, a newly in-house made HiSillicon 910 chipset with a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU, 2 or 3GB of RAM, 13MP rear-facing camera, 2460 mAh battery and LTE Cat 4 technology.
The rumour has it that this new model will feature “exquisite materials,” likely another slim aluminium build housing like its predecessor.
